July 31st Port of Montreal Strike update

Dear Valued Customer,

Termont have issued the below statement on their website and in turn, we wish to circulate it to our customers and partners as this will have a direct impact on port operations on Friday, July 31st, 2020.

MESSAGE BEGINS

In light of last Wednesday night’s events, there will be no operations at Termont (vessel, track and gate) this Friday, July 31st, 2020. This decision was taken jointly with our partners MGT in order to assure the health and safety of all workers on their terminals.

For the week-end, Termont will offer gate service on Saturday August 1st and Sunday August 2nd from 07h00 am to 03h00 pm at both terminals Maisonneuve and Viau. We will favor import transactions.
We ask truckers to register their transactions at the Portal entrance, Port of Montréal (stage 1) before 2h15 pm. No container will be received or delivered for any transaction submitted after 2h15 pm. This procedure will ensure that all truckers inside our terminals are served by operation personnel by 3h00 pm.

END OF MESSAGE

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed of any developments as they occur. As you can appreciate, however, this remains a fluid situation caused by circumstances well beyond our control and impacting all carriers calling the Port of Montreal.

Best Regards,
MST Team
